Jazz Café Birthday Week

Come mid-June it will have been a year since The Columbo Group took over Camden’s iconic Jazz Café. The group have successfully re-launched the Jazz Café since taking over, while maintaining the essence of what initially made the setting such an important venue for artists and live music.

In order to mark their 1st year anniversary, the Colombo Group has announced plans for a week of birthday celebrations at the venue – starting on Wednesday the 14th June – that includes a selection of well-revered artists including Henry Wu, Souls Of Mischief and Mr Bongo. The week will reflect what the Jazz Café has come to embody, bringing together a variety of performers from the genres the venue has played host to since its inception, from classic jazz and worldwide music to hip hop and Malian Blues. Columbo Group founder Steve Ball said of the occasion:

“It’s been a privilege to watch The Jazz Café’s reputation growing over the past 12 months. We’ve made great efforts to re-establish the venue as an important home for live music in the city and in that time have hosted legendary artists and rising talent alike. The birthday week celebrates all the great music we’ve welcomed to our stage over the last year.”

To celebrate a week of great music at the Jazz Cafe, we’ve picked out some of our favourites from the artists playing during the birthday celebrations. Tickets can be purchased here.
